Description

The Wildest Dream features some of the most spectacular footage of Mount Everest ever seen as it tells the story of the famous English mountain climber George Mallory who wanted to be the first person to conquer the untouched Mount Everest summit. He was 800 feet from the summit when he disappeared into a cloud bank. 75 years later his body was discovered by world class climber Conrad Anker, with all his belongings except for the photograph of his wife Ruth which he had promised to place on the summit should he make it that far. Stars Liam Neeson, Natasha Richardson, Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Dancy, Alan Rickman, Leo Houlding, Conrad Anker

Liam Neeson narrates director Anthony Geffen’s documentary exploring the mystery of famed British adventurer George Mallory, who — along with fellow climber Sandy Irvine — perished while attempting to reach the summit of Mount Everest back in 1924. Eight years after discovering Mallory’s preserved body in one of the most treacherous areas of the mountain, American climber Conrad Anker teams with British mountaineer Leo Houlding to retrace Mallory’s footsteps on the North East Ridge Route, free climbing in areas of the mountain that have since been outfitted with ladders despite the risk of injury or death. Alan Rickman, Hugh Dancy, and Ralph Fiennes provide additional narration.
