CORE Community Announcement

Our annual Bukit Gasing Green Challenge has been put on hold this year. Over the past two years of running the race, we managed to get media and community interest to protect the little green lung. However, signs of erosion, development and politics still plague the area.

Thus, we (Friends of Bukit Gasing and Corezone) decided that it would be in the best interest of the area NOT to cause further damage to the ground. Having an estimated 500 participants or more running all at once in Bukit Gasing will further erode the trails that are currently in dire need of funding for repair works and trail maintenance. FOBG is working hard to do as much as they can to get state and federal support to protect and conserve the area in the midst of all the political and development changes.

Keep an eye out in the newspapers for updates on Bukit Gasing and all the other Klang Valley green lung issues. If you hike in Bukit Gasing, do your best to avoid damaging the trails further. Stay away from areas with soft exposed soil as your movement could further create landslides in this wet weather.
