The Machermo Porter Rescue Post is run by IPPG (International Porter Protection Group) in the Gokyo Valley.

At 3:00pm every afternoon volunteer doctors, primarily from the United Kingdom, will conduct an open lecture on Acute Mountain Sickness awareness, prevention, and treatment for anyone passing by or staying at Machermo village. The session is free but donations to the porter rescue post is encouraged to help further prevent porter deaths due to AMS.
